Founded by a holistic beauty therapist who has treated both hair and skin for over 20 years,
Viwa began with a simple but profound observation:
many New Yorkers are overwhelmed, sleep-deprived, and disconnected from their own bodies.
To respond to that, she created a signature treatment combining head spa, facial care, and gentle touch—
a moment of deep release and reset at the end of the day.
From that experience came the desire to offer nighttime products that extend this care into everyday life—starting with our handcrafted Night Repair Oil.
Each product is carefully crafted in Japan, inspired by the natural beauty and quiet spirit of Lake Biwa, the founder’s hometown.

Viwa NYCは、ニューヨーク・チェルシーのプライベートなホリスティックサロンから生まれた小さなセルフケアブランドです。
創設者であるホリスティックビューティーセラピストの大津千夏は、20年以上にわたり髪と肌のケアに携わってきました。 多くのニューヨーカーがストレスや睡眠不足に悩まされ、自分自身の体とのつながりを失っていることに気づきました。 その解決策として、ヘッドスパ、フェイシャルケアを組み合わせたViwa メソッドを開発し、忙しい顧客のリセット時間を提供しています。
この体験から、日常生活の中でもこのケアを延長できるようなナイトタイム製品を提供したいという思いが生まれ その第一歩が、「ナイトリペアオイル」です。 製品は、日本の自然の美しさと静けさにインスパイアされ、創設者の故郷である琵琶湖の美しさを反映し、日本で丁寧に作られています。 これは単なるスキンケアではなく、呼吸し、くつろぎ、再び自分自身とつながるための招待状です。

Why we named Viwa？
（美和）
The name "viwa" originates from the Japanese words "美和" (biwa), where (Bi 美) stands for beauty, and (Wa 和) represents harmony and tranquility, also symbolizing Japan.
Viwa draws inspiration from everyday Japanese rituals, aiming to provide products that reduce stress and help achieve a healthy, radiant balance of both mind and body. The founder Rock Mama chose this name with the hope that individuals living busy and stressful lives would rediscover the beauty of a calm face and a serene heart through experiencing Viwa's methods inspired by Japanese daily life. Additionally, Viwa is inspired by Chi's belief that the most beautiful and calming place in Japan is Lake Biwa, the iconic body of water in Shiga Prefecture where she was born and raised.
